Google has taken down Remove China Apps Android service that helped people to find and if they wish delete other apps made in China.

Remove China Apps had been downloaded more than a 4 million times in the past few days after its launch.

It had proved very popular in India in a very short time, where tensions with China are high over a disputed border in the Himalayas.

As Google said it violated its app store policies but gave no further details.


The software was developed by the Indian firm One Touch AppLabs.

One Touch AppLabs wrote On its website: 

"Dear friends, Google has removed Remove China Apps from [the] Google Play store.

"Thank you for all your support in past two weeks.

"You are awesome."
